This week sees Rob Mills, Global VP Objective Connect, presenting at the Australian Digital Government Summit in Sydney. The primary outtake for attendees at the event is how to focus on driving transformational change and digital integration in public sector agencies.
However, a major inhibitor to the public sector embracing change is the traditionally wide scope of work required before, during and after the transition to a new way of doing things. But what if change just meant helping knowledge workers do their job more effectively without the major disruption associated with process reengineering.
|With over 30 years of software-driven Information Management experience, Rob will share his insights on two differing approaches to process re-engineering: Digital-Automation versus Digital-Enablement. While Automation takes a traditional ‘waterfall by default’ approach, Enablement provides knowledge workers platforms that leave the intelligence in the people doing the work.
Rob will then be exploring how common government business processes can be Digitally-Enabled, both simply and cost effectively, using a secure, locally hosted collaboration platform.
Rob will be presenting on Day 2 of the conference at 10.40am on Wednesday, 26 July 2017.
