Objective included as launch partner for MS Azure Australia Central Regions

Chris Britton - 5 April 2018

On Tuesday the 3rd of April 2018 Microsoft Australia made a splash by announcing the opening of two new Azure Data Centres in Canberra.

Known as Azure Australia Central, the two new Azure regions in Canberra are aimed at servicing the mission-critical workloads of government and critical infrastructure providers in both Australia and New Zealand.

Azure Australia Central is a game-changer for public sector agencies, balancing the productivity benefits of moving to the cloud and ensuring their data is always safe, secure and hosted on Australian soil. The benefits of Azure Australia Central include:

  • Built for mission-critical apps supported by an open ecosystem of partners.
  • Exclusively for Australian and New Zealand government and critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Security and compliance certified by the ASD for Unclassified and Protected data.
  • Delivered from the Australian-owned, secret-accredited facilities of the Canberra Data Centres.

Objective Corporation included as launch Partner

Objective Corporation (ASX:OCL) is an established leader and provider of information, process and collaboration governance software solutions delivering business efficiency and innovation across the Australian and New Zealand public sector and regulated industries. As a Microsoft Gold partner, with SaaS and hosted managed solutions on the existing Azure infrastructure, we view the opening of Azure Australia Central as playing a catalysing role in accelerating the transformation of the public sector and enhancing the government services millions of citizens utilise every day.

We are excited to be included in a select group of launch Partners celebrating the opening of Azure Australia Central. One of our first actions, as a launch Partner, will be to migrate the hosting of our cloud collaboration platform, Objective Connect, to Azure Australia Central. The move provides further peace of mind for our customers collaborating on sensitive information in the cloud. We have a target of completing this migration within the next six weeks. We’ll reach out to our existing customers with more information closer to the time.

"For nearly thirty years, Objective has been trusted to provide governance for the public sectors most sensitive information and processes. With the launch of Azure Australia Central we can leverage the scale, connectivity, resilience and security of Microsoft’s mission-critical cloud to deliver cross-agency collaboration and processing. This opens opportunities for agencies to innovate new ways of working, extending the value of their existing information assets and investments.”

- Jon Palin, Chief Technology Officer, Objective Corporation

Further to transferring Objective Connect customers to Azure Australia Central, Objective is working directly with public sector agencies looking to transform their existing Information Management infrastructure by moving to cloud delivery. We will also be offering specific public sector solutions such as Ministerials processing, Correspondence management and Open Data (FOI) through Azure Australia Central.
